JOHN EAGLE EUROPEAN CHALLENGES AUSTIN TO JOIN FUNDRAISER FOR CAPITAL AREA FOOD BANK OF TEXAS

John Eagle European has launched a challenge to the hill country to join its fundraiser for the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. The Aston Martin, Bentley and Lotus dealership, and its customers are collecting money to help nourish hungry Central Texans. The dealership on Research Boulevard will raise funds through Dec. 16, 2009.

"Everyone in the John Eagle European family supports the efforts of the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas to feed those in our community who are hungry,” said Sonny Morgan, dealer principal at John Eagle European. “It’s so easy to make the difference between a family being nourished or going hungry. When our team volunteered to raise funds for this important cause, several customers asked to match the funds we collect as a challenge grant.”

The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas’ mission (www.austinfoodbank.org) is to nourish hungry people and lead the community in ending hunger. In its 28th year of service, the Food Bank currently provides food and grocery products to 355 Partner Agencies in 21 Central Texas counties. In 2008, CAFB distributed more than 17 million pounds of food.

“We’ve seen a 60 percent increase in need over the past year,” said David Davenport, CAFB President and CEO. “We’re counting on our community to come through, as they have so many times before, to help keep food on the tables of our hungry neighbors.”

John Eagle European was the 36th Aston Martin dealership and the 47th Bentley location in North America. Opened in April 2009, it services and sells a full range of handcrafted, high performance vehicles from the flagship Aston Martin DBS, to the Bentley Continental GTC and Lotus Evora.

Those who want to contribute to the Food Bank can make a donation in the dealership at 12989 Research Blvd, in Austin; they can also call (512) 401-2663 for more details. For more information on the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas, visit www.austinfoodbank.org or call (512) 282-2111.
