LEANDER, TEXAS PROCLAIMS LAST SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH TO BE “JOHN EAGLE EUROPEAN CARS & COFFEE DAY”

The City of Leander, Texas, has proclaimed the last Sunday of each month to be “John Eagle European Cars and Coffee™ Day beginning April 25, 2010. The Mayor of the Austin area town made the official proclamation during the City Council meeting on Thursday, April 1. Sonny Morgan, Dealer Principal for John Eagle European personally accepted the honor from the Mayor and City Council during the meeting.

The first “Cars & Coffee” in the Hill Country attracted about 200 vehicles to the “Old Town” area of Leander, Texas, on Jan. 31. The Sunday event, which is held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. is a casual gathering where enthusiasts bring cars, trucks and motorcycles of every kind. Since January, the Leander event has continued to grow and bring in even larger crowds and more cars.

“We appreciate the efforts of Mr. Morgan and the entire team at John Eagle European to bring this event to Leander,” stated Kirk D. Clennan for the City of Leander’s Economic Development Department. “They’ve certainly stimulated our area economy with the Cars and Coffee event. It’s a unique experience created by blocking off the streets, bringing in a live band and opening up the local restaurants for business, all to accommodate the car enthusiasts.”

The impetus for the Leander event occurred when Morgan, who had been to another Cars and Coffee event, approached the City of Leander to host one in the Austin area. The City’s economic development department agreed that their town would benefit from this kind of event.

“I’m pleased that we’ve been able to help fan the flames of automotive passion through our event in Leander,” said Sonny Morgan, dealer principal at John Eagle European. “Each month, even more people driving exotics, classics, muscle, street machines, bikes and military vehicles join us. We hope this event will be the genesis for even more automotive events in the hill country.”

Leander lies in the heart of Central Texas at the edge of the Texas Hill Country. Just five miles north of Austin on U.S. 183, Leander is home to approximately 30,000 people living amid beautiful lakes, rolling hills and a historic downtown area. Now, area auto enthusiasts are filling Sunday afternoons in Leander with the sounds of revving engines.

Having originated in Southern California in 2005, Cars and Coffee began with a group of enthusiasts who wanted to share their cars in an environment where they could be comfortable enough to ask questions, learn and experience the joys of the diverse offering of cars. The Leander-Austin event is an extension of the California show.

In 2009, Lotus of Austin was the No. 1 ranked Lotus dealership in Texas, and third in the United States. Opened in April 2009, it services and sells a full range of handcrafted, high performance vehicles from the flagship Aston Martin DBS, to the Bentley Continental GTC and Lotus Evora.

JOHN EAGLE EUROPEAN AUSTIN, TEXAS SOARS NATIONALLY IN SALES OF ASTON MARTIN AND BENTLEY MOTORCARS

Only a few weeks since the Austin, Texas, dealership opened, John Eagle European is among the top dealers for Aston Martin and Bentley cars. As the 36th Aston Martin dealership to open in North America and the 40th Bentley dealership in the United States, the beautiful new addition to Austin has exceeded the expectations of both these storied British automakers. John Eagle European officially opened its doors on May 15, 2009, on Research Boulevard.

“Austin is a beautiful, sophisticated city that matches the elegant character of the wonderful bespoke cars from Aston Martin and Bentley,” stated Sonny Morgan, dealer principal and co-owner of John Eagle European. “The response to these automobiles after our recent opening has been fantastic. Though we exceeded our expectations in terms of sales, the number of cars available will continue to be limited. John Eagle European opened in a new state-of-the-art 10,000 sq. ft. showroom with dedicated service facility, located on Research Boulevard, to the North of the city. Economic stability, growth potential and extreme wealth per capita were the leading factors in bringing the dealership to Austin

The dealership also offers Lotus sports cars and recently introduced the new Envora model to central Texas.

“We brought this unique dealership to the hill country based on demand for Aston Martins over the past several years in the Austin area from our Dallas location,” noted Morgan. “The sales from our first day have demonstrated the wisdom of the decision to offer Astons, as well as Bentleys and Lotus cars at this new dealership. We’re pleased that the people of central Texas have embraced our selection of special motorcars.”
